The resume builder that shows its work.

We built ATSPrep because a score without evidence is not very useful. Match a job inside the live resume, fix vague bullets, then export the PDF and see what the parser actually recovered.

No signup or watermark. Your resume file is never uploaded.

What it actually does

The resume stays in the middle.

Matching, writing feedback, and export checks should not feel like three separate products. You keep looking at the same resume while ATSPrep adds the evidence you need.

The part most tools skip

A good-looking PDF can still parse badly.

Columns, text boxes, and icons can change what software recovers. The frustrating part is that the PDF still looks completely normal to you.

the exported PDF is the version an ATS actually receives

01 — X-Ray

Do not trust an “ATS-safe” badge.

After export, ATSPrep opens the exact PDF it created and extracts the text again. You can compare what came back with what you wrote instead of taking a marketing claim on faith.

The check takes a few seconds. If something does not survive the round trip, you can see the missing line before a recruiter does.

02 — Proof Engine

Good writing can still say nothing.

We did not build another tool that turns a weak bullet into smoother-sounding filler. Proof looks for the thing a reader can verify: a number, scope, or outcome.

  • Points to filler, vague scope, and unsupported claims
  • Explains what kind of evidence the bullet is missing
  • Caps high scores until the resume has enough real content
paste a bullet and see why it is weak
Proof Engine · liveUNFALSIFIABLE
No measurable outcome. A reader cannot verify this claim.
Attach a number: how much, how many, how fast, how much cheaper, or over what scope.
NO-EVIDENCE
Opens with "responsible for" — describes a job description, not an achievement.
Start with what you actually changed: Cut, Built, Led, Shipped, Reduced…
WEAK-OPENER
"various" gestures at a number without giving one.
Replace "various" with the actual figure.

The difference

A score is useful only when you can inspect it.

ATSPrep keeps the reason beside the thing being judged: your sentence, the job requirement it matches, and the PDF the parser receives.

How it works

From your current resume to a checked PDF.

01

Start

Import your resume, use a scored template or begin blank.

02

Match

Paste a posting and see its terms inside the live preview.

03
🔬

Prove

Fix vague claims with specific evidence from the Proof Engine.

04
🩻

Export

Generate the PDF, then X-Ray the exact file before applying.

The rules behind it

Three decisions we did not compromise on.

01
X-Ray

Check the file, not the promise.

ATSPrep generates your PDF, opens those exact bytes again, and compares the recovered text with what you wrote. If a line disappears or moves, you can see it before you apply.

The exported file is tested directly.

02
Proof Engine

A weak claim gets a real reason.

“Responsible for various backend systems” sounds fine but proves very little. The Proof Engine points to the missing number, scope, or outcome instead of replacing your experience with generic filler.

Every bullet keeps its own findings.

03
Local-first

Your resume file is never uploaded.

The file and saved draft stay on your device. Keyword matching runs locally. If you opt into semantic matching, ATSPrep sends only the relevant text for comparison and does not store it.

Semantic matching is optional and asks first.

Pricing

The useful part is free.

This is not a short trial that ends at the download button. Build, match, check, and export without credits, a watermark, or an account.

Why there is no account

Your work stays yours.

We do not need a profile to help you edit a document. Your resume file and saved draft stay on the device you are using. Optional semantic matching sends only the relevant text for comparison and does not store it.

Questions

The questions we would ask too.

01How do I know if my resume is ATS friendly?

Stop guessing and read it back. An applicant tracking system does not see your layout — it sees whatever text it can extract from the file. ATSPrep re-opens the PDF you just exported, pulls the raw text out the same way a parser does, and shows you the result side by side with what you wrote. If a line is missing, mangled, or out of order, you will see it immediately.

02Is ATSPrep really free?

Yes. Building, importing, job matching, Proof scoring, using role templates, and exporting your resume are all free with no account and no card. There is nothing to sign up for because there is no server holding your resume data.

03Can ATSPrep match my resume to a job description?

Yes. Paste a job description above the live resume preview and ATSPrep shows coverage, missing terms, and exact evidence highlights inside the resume itself. The full report also separates literal keyword matches from optional semantic comparisons, so you can see why a requirement did or did not match.

04Do applicant tracking systems read PDFs?

Modern systems like Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and SmartRecruiters all parse PDFs. The failure is rarely the format itself — it is how the PDF was built. Text stored in columns, tables, headers, footers or images can extract out of order or vanish entirely. A PDF that was generated as clean, linear text is safe; a PDF exported from a design tool often is not.

05Why did my resume get rejected without a human reading it?

Usually because the parser could not recover the fields it needed. If your job titles, dates or contact details land in a region the extractor drops, the record it creates is incomplete, and an incomplete record ranks badly or fails screening rules. Checking the extracted text is the fastest way to find out whether this happened to you.

06Does my resume get uploaded to a server?

No. Parsing, checking and PDF generation all run inside your browser using local JavaScript. Your resume never crosses the network, which is why the checker works with the page open on a plane.

07What file types can I upload to check my resume?

PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown. You can also paste plain text straight in. ATSPrep reads the file, extracts the content, and maps it into editable fields so you can fix problems rather than just being scored on them.

08How is this different from an ATS resume score?

A score is an opinion. Most checkers show you a number and a checklist without ever proving the parser could read your file. ATSPrep shows the actual recovered text and a fidelity measurement comparing it to your input, so every claim comes with the evidence behind it.

09What is the best resume format to get past an ATS?

One column, standard section headings, real text instead of graphics, dates in a consistent format, and no critical information inside headers, footers or tables. ATSPrep exports in this shape by default and then verifies the result rather than asking you to trust it.

Try it on your actual resume.

Paste a job, fix one weak bullet, and export the PDF. You should know within a few minutes whether ATSPrep is useful to you.
