Does this show what every ATS will read?

X-Ray shows the text ATSPrep's PDF extractor recovers from your finished file, so you can catch missing text and reading-order problems before you send it. It is ATSPrep's own extractor rather than Workday, Greenhouse, or another vendor ATS.

Is ATSPrep really free?

Yes. Importing, editing, job matching, Proof checks, templates, PDF or DOCX exports, and local application tracking are free. No account, card, or watermark. The optional email list and planned Job Hunt Pass never block these tools.

Can I keep track of applications and resume versions?

Yes. Save up to 20 named resume versions in Studio and track up to 300 applications. Keep reusable achievements, map requirements to evidence, and explicitly record the saved resume content you submitted. Historical copies remain unchanged when you edit or delete their source versions. Workspace backups include documents; restore keeps them in a workspace archive without replacing your Studio draft. There is no cloud sync, automatic application submission or email reminder.

Can ATSPrep match my resume to a job description?

Yes. Paste a posting to see matching terms, missing terms, and the resume lines behind each match. Literal keyword matching is separate from optional semantic matching. Coverage is a guide to tailoring, not a hiring probability.

Does my resume get uploaded to a server?

No. Your resume file is never uploaded. Imports, edits, Proof scoring, X-Ray checks, and PDF generation run in the browser. If you press Semantic match, ATSPrep sends selected resume content lines and job-posting requirement lines to the matching service; your name, email, phone, address, and links are excluded, and nothing is stored.

What file types can I upload to check my resume?

PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown. You can also paste plain text straight in. ATSPrep reads the file, extracts the content, and maps it into editable fields so you can fix problems rather than just being scored on them.
